Have you booked an outing with Mon Canyon? If you received a link by email, please fill in each participant’s details below: they help us prepare the outing and the right equipment for everyone.
After your booking, you will receive a personal link by email to complete the participants' details.
And to make the most of your day, here is everything you need to know before joining us in the rivers of Basse-Terre.
Before the outing
Fitness and swimming
- Being able to swim is required for almost all our outings. Only some family outings, with close supervision, can welcome children who cannot swim yet, under the guide’s direct responsibility.
- You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should enjoy moving: walking in the river, abseiling, sliding, jumping.
- For sporty (red) and expert (black) outings, good stamina is needed: routes last 5 to 7 hours, and the walk in or out is often a real effort.
- Let us know when booking about any health issue, medication, recent injury or pregnancy: the guide will adapt the outing or suggest a more suitable route.
Minimum age and key facts per outing
Routes are graded from green to black, like ski slopes. The levels are explained on our canyoning levels page.

Up-to-date information (time, exact meeting point) is on each outing’s page and in your confirmation email.
Weather and water level
Your safety comes first. In case of heavy rain or flooding, the guide may postpone or cancel the outing, or offer another route. You will be informed as early as possible, by WhatsApp or email.
Getting to the meeting point
- You drive to the meeting point: think about car-sharing if there are several of you.
- Allow plenty of time for the drive: Guadeloupe’s roads have their surprises 😉 Travel times to the meeting point are often longer than expected.
- Arrive well rested, well hydrated and after a meal.
Equipment provided
All technical equipment is included, checked and disinfected after every outing:
- a certified helmet;
- a canyoning harness with lanyards and a descender suited to your level;
- a neoprene wetsuit suited to the water temperature, and neoprene socks;
- a canyon bag with a waterproof drum for your picnic and small belongings.
What to bring
- Closed shoes with a flexible, grippy sole that can get wet (running, trail or hiking shoes). Avoid sandals, flip-flops, Crocs and smooth-soled trainers.
- A swimsuit, worn under the wetsuit.
- A towel and a change of clothes for after the outing.
- Water (a little, ideally in a soft flask: lighter and less fragile than a hard bottle) and a snack; a picnic for full-day outings.
- If you wear glasses, a strap or cord; if you have long hair, a hair tie to keep it away from the descender.
- Sunscreen and mosquito repellent for the walk in.
Leave jewellery and valuables at home; your phone and keys travel in the waterproof drum.
“Swim you must, closed shoes you will wear, and your guide you will obey.” — Master Yoda, honorary guide at Mon Canyon
During the outing
- Every outing starts with a safety briefing: listen carefully to the guide’s instructions, especially before jumps.
- No jump is compulsory: there is always an alternative, by abseiling or on foot. If you don’t feel comfortable, just say so and the guide will adapt.
- Our canyons lie in or on the edge of the Guadeloupe National Park: we leave no litter, pick nothing, and avoid sunscreen just before getting into the water to protect the pools.
- We limit the number of participants and take only one group per day: take your time, do the jumps again… and why not share a ti-punch at the end.
Booking, payment and cancellation
- Book online from each outing’s page, or by WhatsApp. A deposit confirms your slot; the balance is paid on the day.
- Cancellation and postponement terms are detailed in our terms of sale and internal rules.
- Groups, birthdays, hen and stag parties, companies: contact us for a tailor-made outing. Gift vouchers are available for all our outings.
